DR Vikram Padhye
Dr Vikram Padhye is an Otolaryngologist, Head & Neck Surgeon from Adelaide, South Australia. He has a special interest in sleep apnoea and sinus surgery having completed two international fellowships. This included the University of Toronto Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery Fellowship from 2019 to 2020 under Professor Ian Witterick (Canada) and the Stanford University Sleep Surgery Fellowship from 2022 to 2024 under Professor Robson Capasso (USA). The latter supported by the Passe & Williams Foundation.
He has high level interest in academics and completed his PhD in 2015 via the foundation’s academic surgeon scientist pathway supervised by Professor PJ Wormald. His thesis on the management of carotid artery haemorrhage in endoscopic surgery earned a Dean’s commendation of excellence. He is also a recipient of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons’ prestigious RP Jepson award for research.
His current research interests include phenotyping in obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) and the development of new targeted therapies including novel neurostimulation techniques for the treatment of OSA.
He currently holds consultant appointments at The Royal Adelaide Hospital and Northern Area Health Networks and works in collaboration with Professor Danny Eckert and the Adelaide Institute for Sleep Health (AISH) at Flinders University.
