Prof James Vickers
James Vickers PhD DSc is a University of Tasmania Distinguished Professor and the Director of the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre. His research work has mainly focussed on neurodegenerative conditions, particularly Alzheimer’s disease, as well as brain ageing, neural injury and repair, dementia risk reduction and health services and education for dementia. Professor Vickers is a Past-President of the Australasian Neuroscience Society, Past-Dean of the Tasmanian School of Medicine and a Board Member of Dementia Australia Research Foundation.
