Isabella Burdon

Isabella is a final-year PhD candidate and fifth-year medical student under the supervision of Prof Psaltis, Prof Wormald, and Prof Vreugde at the University of Adelaide. Her research focuses on dysbiosis of the sinus microbiome, from characterising how the sinus microbiome changes in health and disease to the targeted eradication of pathogens using bacteriophage. Isabella has spent the early part of her PhD validating lab workflows and developing coding pipelines for metagenomic study of the sinus microbiome. These novel workflows have provided new insights into the sinus microbiome, opening the door to personalised medical approaches for CRS.
