A/Prof Catherine Sinclair

Associate Professor Catherine Sinclair is a dual fellowship trained neck endocrine surgeon and laryngologist. Between 2010 and 2021 she worked in New York where she served as the Director of Division of Head and Neck Surgery, Mount Sinai West Hospital.  She relocated to Australia at the start of 2021.  She introduced thermal ablation of thyroid nodules to Australia in 2021, after performing the first radiofrequency ablation for a benign thyroid nodule in New York in 2019.  She discovered new components of the human laryngeal adductor reflex and used this knowledge to develop a novel methodology for intraoperative continuous neuromonitoring of the recurrent laryngeal and vagus nerves in neck which is utilized worldwide in both neck endocrine and neurosurgical procedures. Dr Sinclair has authored multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. She is the current Editor-in-Chief of VideoEndocrinology, one of the three official journals of the American Thyroid Association.
